Frilly and Funkie : your favorite vintage style

Well the Frilly and Funkie challenges have begun and here's my entry for the challenge this week --I chose one of the Stampsmith stamps --girlfriends for my image . Usually I stamp the photo stamps on glossy cardstock but today I tried the LaBlanche speciality cardstock with versamagic chaulk ink and was amazed at how detailed the image turned out and that I only tried once normally with glossy c/s I tend to try several times before I'm pleased with the image so guess what I'll always use the LaBlanche paper from now on.

Paper: MME Madison Ave.collection,bazzil c/s

I had recently done a card class using alcohol inks and had a few pieces left over which I just couldn't throw away .The colors reminded me of an evening sky and felt it suited the image I used so nicely . I colored the flowers with Towbow markers and added Viva pearls to the centers.

Tim's 12 tags of 2012 --March

I finally finished my tag for March over the weekend . I had to change a few things since I didn't have all of the products that Tim used so here's my version . First I inked the tag all over with Antique Linen DI then ran it through my machine with the distressed stripes CB embossing folder which I inked with Frayed Burlap DI ,I then went over the raised areas with walnut stain DI ,distress the edges with my distress tool and sponged the edges with walnut stain DI . I like how it turned out . I had some branch trees in my stash that I had cut from corrugated cardboard which I thought would be nice to attach the butterflies to. The butterflies I stamped in Versamark on Grungepaper and attached to Sookwang tape and cut out ( I didn't have any of the wonder tape but this worked fine). The snippets were cut from Tim's Lost & Found paper pad and arranged in a mosaic pattern . Didn't have the cement EP that Tim used so I used lavender Distress EP on one of the butterflies and Green Pearl EP on the other one,then added glossy accents to the snippets . To complete my tag I had one of the metal flowers already painted in my stash which I added along with a ticket tag on one of the memo pins.

I had to make a few Masculine Birthday cards this week one for my brother and one for DH whose Birthday fall on the same day . Just wanted to share the one I did for my brother since I don't think he will check my blog LOL. The BG I stamped with various images from TH's Life's Possibilites collection and then I ran it through my Big Kick with the Checkboard EF ,and distessed the edges .The gears were cut using the TH gear die then sponged with DI and embossed with distress EP . I really like how they turned out . The clipping was torn from a paper bag that I got from a local scrapbook store . I stamped the mini jalopy on script paper with walnut DI and embossed with clear EP and added brads to the wheels.I added a ticket and circled the month and day of my brothers Birthday and attached it to one of Tim's hanger clips.
I'm entering this in a couple of challenges;
